Blurt Around The World

Queensland council elections were held on 16 March 2024. The one Wencee is focused on is the Brisbane City Council and where the Greens landed. Prior to the election the Greens were confident in a big swing towards them and gaining several new seats. One was retained (The Gabba), one gain (Paddington) and one in the balance (Walter Taylor) →

Reality Check

The Australian federal government, ALP, has proposed a long awaited fuel efficiency standard for fuel powered vehicles entering the country. As usual, the LNP, are claiming this amounts a new “tax” by the ALP when there is no tax. A tax, by definition, is a mandatory charge that collects revenue for the government. The new fuel efficiency standard will be a framework for vehicle manufacturers to ensure better fuel efficiencies and be penalised if they don’t or be able to buy credits from other manufacturers →

Once again nuclear energy is being talked about in Australia to replace fossil fuel energy. And once again, there are lots of lies and deception going on. The Australian “news” is claiming that majority of Australians would back a nuclear power plant.
